Fall is right around the corner, which means that it’s the PERFECT time to get into the habit of meal prepping. Here are four easy tips for you to try this fall!
Ever seen an apple go bad in the fridge? Yeah, me neither, so no judgment here.
But since I’ve started meal prepping my produce last longer, my pre-made meals taste amazing all week (plus it’s WAY easier on my brain), and it saves me a good chunk of time and money too!
You’ll thank yourself for becoming a meal-prepping ninja BEFORE the busy holiday season hits is a double win in my books.
So, why meal prep? You KNOW there’s nothing like being tired, rushed or hungry to sabotage all your best healthy intentions. When that happens, we just do the easiest thing — order take out, grab processed snacks or even worse, skip eating all together.
That’s not what I want you to do. In fact, that’s the literal opposite of what I want you to do.
Here are a few solid meal prepping ideas to get you started this fall:
SOUP
When in doubt — make soup! Not only is it easy, but it’s SO delicious this time of year. I have plenty of different soup recipes on my blog for you to check out!
The best part? If you get tired of eating soup after a few days, you can drizzle it over some sweet potato or grains to mix it up! Mmm, mmm, MMM!
GRANOLA
One of my fall must-haves is homemade granola! I personally LOVE granola, but I hate that the store bought version is so high in sugar.
I usually spend an hour once a month to have my own big batch. Not only will your home smell heavenly, it’s the perfect snack to make in bulk and have on hand. Click here for the recipe!
ROASTED VEGGIES
The thought of roasted zucchini, rutabaga, carrots, or squash has me drooling over here. Throwing a bunch of veg together with a little bit of olive oil in a pan is one of my fave ways to eat vegetables in the fall! If you’re feeling adventurous, try out my Maple Roasted Rutabaga recipe!
CHICKEN
Roast a WHOLE BUNCH of chicken and repurpose it for dayzzzz. You can pair it with vegetables and rice, make chicken soup, or even a delicious chicken salad sandwich! The possibilities are endless.
The best advice I can give is to take it easy. You don’t have to change your entire life at once. Take BABY steps towards making better food choices and toward being prepared in advance. Little by little, goes a long way!
