Okay so you may have gone a little overboard and ate the entire charcuterie board… 😬
Now you feel bloated, guilty, and ravenously hungry — how can that be when you ate a kazillion calories?!
Eating poorly sends the blood sugars into chaos. When the crash comes, the body will try to protect itself and the brain will emit signals that you are STARVING…
Which will then start compulsive cravings for more carbs that the body thinks will help stabilize the roller coaster-riding glucose levels.
3 tips to get back on track:
👉 Drink loads of water to help flush away excess sodium and boost your metabolism to help rebalance your body.
👉 Do NOT skip meals in the hopes of making up for some of those calories – that’ll only disrupt things even more.
👉 Have plenty of protein to help stabilize blood sugar levels and satiate hunger hormones.
BONUS TIP:
If you know you’ll be wanting to have a few extra calories, carbs or fat grams at dinner or dessert…
Allow for that first in your tracking, and then build the rest of your day around it.
For example, let’s estimate that the average dessert has about 525 calories with about 25g fat (225 cal) and 75 grams carbs (300 cal). Just take that right off your daily targets!
You can then adjust the rest of your meals and snacks that day to make up for it!
