Omega-3 fats are a SPORTS PERFORMANCE aid.
Researchers have shown several interconnections in the body that contribute to the ability of omega-3 fats to improve sports performance, and “lead to improvements in strength and endurance by enhancing aerobic metabolism” (Brilla & Landerholm, 1990; Bucci, 1993).
We also know that omega-3 fats “have been shown to minimize post-exercise soreness” (Jouris et al., 2011).
“While omega-3s are already well-established as cognitive function supporters, scientific research is also studying whether omega-3s can improve reaction time. One such study in 24 female soccer players showed a significant improvement in the neuromotor function”.
