PLEASE DON’T STARVE YOURSELF.
It’s January. You’re gung-ho about dropping those last 10 pounds this year. You’re “making some lifestyle changes” – right?
The #1 mistake I see is that you don’t eat enough for your goals. (Gals AND guys, I’m talking to both of you!)
This creates a deficit in energy, and you’re STARVING! For real. You’re so hungry that your brain is sending alarm signals to the body, which incites cravings and turns on hunger cues.
That means (1) you’re cranky, and (2) you end up binging by the end of the day.
Womp womp.
It’s just not sustainable. The best diet for you is the one that you can actually maintain! That means being satisfied at the end of every day, right?
However, it’s good to understand that if you do decide to go on a huge caloric deficit, you may encounter thermogenic adaptation. This is when your thyroid and metabolism slow way down in order to make up for this low caloric intake.
Then, unfortunately, when you do start to eat more again, you’ll end up packing on more pounds.
Don’t do this to your body! BUILD Holistic Nutrition is here to help you figure out exactly what your targets and goals should be with a safe and moderate amount of caloric deficit, and getting the right amounts of the micronutrients for your needs.
