What are psyllium husks?

Psyllium husks are a type of super high fibre that comes from the outer shell of the seed of the Plantago Ovata plant, grown in areas of India. It’s a common ingredient in many over-the-counter laxative formulas like Metamucil and Fiberall. It’s not uncommon for dosages to deal with constipation to be up to 10 grams per day.
